The Tom Leonard Mining Museum welcomes visits from schools and has a number of facilities available for schools during visits.

 

MUSEUM FACILITIES:

Parking for cars, minibuses and coaches.

Toilets.

Outdoor picnic area.

Objects for handling.

Artefact loan boxes available for schools with prior notification.

25 steps leading up to the entrance from the car park.

Trained Guides to lead you through the museum

There is also a Museum shop selling memorabilia, museum archive photographs CD ROM, and related children's fiction.

Tour arrangements for schools are as follows:

Duration of tour approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, with each of the four sections lasting about 20 minutes.

Party to be divided into groups, with no more than 12 per group including supervisory adults.

The conduct of the group whilst on the museum site is the responsibility of the group leader.

For group bookings, a minimum of 1 adult to every 10 children is required.
