Tabletop Archaeology – Home Educator Morning

7th September 2026 - 7th September 2026

Dig into archaeology

Participate in your own dig and learn how archaeologists investigate the past.

Children will excavate, examine and record their finds, discovering how archaeologists use objects and evidence to learn about people and life in the past.

Tabletop Archaeology

This relaxed, hands-on workshop is designed for Home Educator families and takes place in the Land of Iron Education Room.

Children will work through the archaeological process of excavating, examining and recording finds, giving them a practical introduction to how archaeology helps us understand the past.

Who is the workshop for?

The workshop is designed for children aged 7–11, working at approximately Key Stage 2 level.

Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the session. Accompanying adults attend free and do not need to book a separate ticket.
