• Ironstone Mining Experience

  Travel underground in this workshop to learn about the mining of East Cleveland Ironstone! Get to understand the lives of the families of the trade, the part this region played in the development of the town of Middlesbrough as well as the industrial revolution.

• Skinningrove Village Tour

  A walking tour that covers the discovery of ironstone, the steelworks and mining remains. Understand the development of Skinningrove and similar mining villages by examining man-made and natural features.

• Shadow Puppet Show

  Learn about the art of puppetry theatre! Pupils will learn the story of George the miner, and tell their own tale of the day in the life of a miner through team work using shadow puppets and poetry.
