Still open: Land of Iron unaffected by Skinningrove road closure

UPDATE: The road is now fully open. There are temporary barriers on the bridge, but there is full traffic access to Skinningrove and Land of Iron.

If you've seen news of an overnight road incident in Skinningrove, we want to reassure you: Land of Iron is open as normal, and getting to us is unaffected.

Access from the main road, the A174 between Carlin How and Loftus, to Land of Iron remains open. Our car park is accessible, and all our planned activities are running as usual. Our neighbours at Kaskane are open too.

The closure affects the far side of the museum, between us and Skinningrove village, and does not affect the route in. It's a separate issue entirely from your visit to us.

We know news like this can spread quickly and cause confusion, so please don't let it put you off. We're open, and we're looking forward to seeing you.

We'll update this page if anything changes, but Land of Iron is open this summer.
